Dr. Politis feels privileged to support her clients as they enact meaningful changes in their lives.  Dr. Politis approaches each client from a position of empathy and positive regard, and both therapy and assessment are viewed as collaborative processes.  Dr. Politis also views the practice of psychology as a collaborative process and regularly consults with other professionals to ensure she is providing her clients the most comprehensive and appropriate care possible.   

When Dr. Politis is not collaborating with patients or colleagues, she enjoys spending time with her family. Together, they are often at the soccer field, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

For more than fifteen years, Dr. Politis has worked in a variety of different settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families presenting with a wide array of symptoms and struggles. Dr. Politis has worked in a residential treatment center, county mental health agencies, outpatient/agency settings, intensive in-home settings, alternative care facilities for individuals with chronic mental illness, multiple levels within the Child Welfare System, and with individuals in inpatient and partial hospitalization programs. In addition to therapeutic services, Dr. Politis provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations to answer diagnostic questions, help guide clients toward greater personal clarity, and provide directions for further support and treatment.

Dr. Politis holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado (LPC). Dr. Politis additionally holds a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Colorado. She received her predoctoral internship experience at Mental Health Partners, and postdoctoral fellowship training in private practice (Denver Integrative Assessment) where she worked under a licensed psychologist completing psychological and psychoeducational evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults in the outpatient setting, and with adolescents and adults undergoing treatment at the Eating Recovery Center.

Above all, Dr. Politis aims to be a neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed clinician. Her assessment specialties include Autism, ADHD, learning differences, eating disorders, and emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Politis' therapeutic specialties include simple and complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and attentional difficulties. As a clinician, she employs a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based interventions. Dr. Politis' approach to treatment tends to be integrative, allowing her the flexibility to tailor her work appropriately for different individuals, with specific aims toward cultural sensitivity and building on personal strengths.
